Alex Akagi is the owner of Dakara Systems and the father of Xander Akagi. His wife (Emma) was killed in a car accident in 1984 and he raised his son on his own. He hired a group of actors to portray investors in an effort to acquire funding for his son's Artificial Intelligence project - named Emma - as they had missed the Air Force deadline. Alex deeply cared for his son; however, he had trouble understanding him because of his enhanced intelligence.
