This is just a speculation but couldn't the future people just throw some synthetic skin over weapons and send them back that way? I mean that's basically all a Terminator is, a big weapon with fake skin.Nader143 05:28, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Been there, Done that. In addition to the 2ea. T800s from T1 and T2, the T850, the T1000s (both), all the T888s, we have the following examples of flesh smuggling:
- Lieutenant Koufaks (terminators embed and bring back a functional plasma pistol in his gut, removal killed him)
- The Terminator: One Shot (a human smuggles critical components of an anti-terminator weapon....uncomfortably)
- T2: Infiltrator (the I-950 brings back Terminator manufacturing components, in the form of power cells and CPUs)
- "Pilot" (speculation: the Engineer had to bring some kind of future tech back for the Isotope weapon, yes, Cameron Lied)
- And it's not "fake skin". It is real living tissue, generating some kind of EM field that shields equipment encased (even partially IE: Cromarties forward jump) and allows transition via TDE. Something in the unique nature of the T1000 and TX use of mimetic polyalloy effectively replicates this field, serving the same function as living tissue. The use of live humans by the resistance is limited ethically to small components. Skynet has no compunction, and will stuff whatever they can surgically insert into a human gun cabinet, as long as it lives thru the transition. Corpses (even recent) don't cut it. Dy-ing, maybe, dead, no joy.Fulongamer 05:50, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Awesome points. I agree that fake skin isn't enough - it needs to be living tissue (or mimetic polyalloy which can replicate the same effect). I've always thought that the mimetic polyalloy was a huge loophole... but then again, the T-1000 is so cool, it's all good in my book :-). --Kanamekun 06:03, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
