Dogs

Ever since Skynet developed T-800 units that used living tissue on top of a metallic endoskeleton, the human resistance of the future has had a hard time identifying Terminator units. As a result, a significant number of Infiltrator units have been able to breach Resistance defenses and slaughter human fighters. However, the Resistance has found that trained "sniffer" dogs posted at checkpoints are effective at detecting this new threat.
Incidences
- The Terminator: Dogs at the resistance bunker checkpoint react to the "Columbo" terminator. Also, at the home of the Wrong Sarah Connor, a dog reacts to the T-101. A dog at the Tiki Motel later does the same thing.
- Terminator 2: Judgment Day: John's dog "Max" reacts to a T-1000.
- The Terminator: Tempest: The stray dog pack at Mary Randall's L.A. safehouse react to C890.L's assault.
- The Terminator: The Enemy Within: Mary Randall recollects patrolling the Future War with dogs and detecting a terminator in a poncho. (Image at right)
- T2: Infiltrator: The puppy Dieter von Rossbach wanted to give to John reacts to the T-800 they destroyed at the Connor safehouse in Paraguay.
- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles "Gnothi Seauton": The dogs in Carlos' house react to Cameron.
Notes
- In Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the dogs at Enrique Salceda's ranch do not bark when the "good Terminator" is nearby. It is unclear whether or not this is for a specific reason, or if James Cameron simply didn't want to confuse audience members by unnecessarily introducing tension into the scene.
