The Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Series 800 "Guardian" was sent from the future. Its mission was to protect young Sarah Connor, which it successfully completed.

History

Terminator Genisys

The Guardian was sent to 1973 to protect a young Sarah Connor from a T-1000 sent by Skynet to kill her. It ends up raising and protecting Sarah, whist her, over time forming a very strong father/daughter bond with Sarah.

When the T-800 sent by Skynet arrives at Griffith park observatory in 1984, the Guardian confronts the T-800, engaging with it in combat, allowing Sarah to shut it down with her gun. Kyle Reese who arrived from the future to protect Sarah Connor is shocked by the Guardian's presence in the truck and attempts to shoot him. The truck crashes and Kyle steps out to hunt the Guardian and the Guardian knocks him unconscious.

When Reese wakes up, Sarah explains to Kyle that the Guardian was also sent to protect her but over 10 years ago. After arriving at a warehouse, the T-1000 arrives, forming part of it's body into a javelin and throws it, pinning the Guardian to the wall.

When the T-1000 is severely damaged by the acid, The Guardian held the T-1000 in the acid as it fell, terminating it and The Guardian damages his living tissue on his right arm in the acid, thus making him unable to time travel with Sarah and Kyle to 2017.

The Guardian sends Kyle and Sarah to and must wait 33 years for their arrival.

The Guardian sees the police on the highway bridge and witnesses Sarah and Kyle's arrest.

The Guardian, carrying a stuffed bear, makes his way to the security room at the hospital to see where Kyle and Sarah are, along with John Connor. The Guardian arrives much to Sarah's relief but shoots John, enraging Kyle and Sarah point a gun at his head, before it is revealed John is now a Terminator, known as the T-3000.

The two Terminators engage in combat, the altercation ending when a giant magnet in the hospital subdues and incapacitates John, allowing Sarah and Kyle escape with the Guardian.
