Sergeant Wright (first name unknown) was the Los Angeles police sergeant assigned to the front desk at the station where a Series 800 Terminator slaughtered all officers on duty the night that Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese were brought in for questioning.
Wright talked briefly to the T-800, which asked to see Connor, refusing the T-800's request. The T-800 temporarily exited the station vestibule, only to return moments later, driving a squad car straight into the vestibule and desk, crushing Wright to death. In the massacre that followed, some 17 police officers were killed single-handedly by the unstoppable Terminator.
Wright has the minor distinction of being the very first character in the Terminator film series to which the T-800 utters it's famous catchphrase, "I'll be back."
This character was titled in the film's end credits as Desk Sergeant and was portrayed by Bruce M. Kerner, who was also the film's executive in charge of production.
