Series 950

The Series 900 is a type of Terminator mass produced by Skynet. Individual Terminators within the Series are often referred to as T-900's or T-950s.

The T-900 is Skynet's follow-up to the Series 8xx. It was a cybernetic organism with living tissue over a hyperalloy-armored endoskeleton. With rogue Terminators increasingly reprogrammed to help the Resistance, Skynet decided to make a Terminator series with the intent of terminating other Terminators. The T-900 series was twice as fast, strong and durable.^[1] Its battle chassis was covered with hyperalloy armor and had many choices of vision.^[2] It was powered by a miniature plasma fusion reactor in its torso and also had the ability to drive animals to the point of attacking their own handlers.^[3]^[4]

Curiously, the T-900s have appeared to be particularly inefficient and otherwise inferior compared to older models, despite their increased capabilities. The video games in which they predominately feature shows the T-950s making tactical errors in combat (such as standing prone while a T-850 attacks). The T-900s in another game are also unable to bring down a T-850, despite possessing strength in numbers and overall superior capabilities. It is likely they are represented as such to allow the player to progress through the games with only moderate difficulty, but this representation is contridictive of their entire concept.

One possible explanation for this is that these T-900s had little combat experience compared to the battle-hardened T-850. Their CPUs may also have been set to read-only, allowing Skynet more control over them but at the same time limiting their ability to learn.

Unit Types

Skynet made models for different purposes on the battlefield which they also named differently:

Infiltrator (T-900): These terminator had the endoskeleton covered with living tissue to be able to come close to humans.^[5]
T-900 Supply: These terminators have red sensors and terminator rejuvenation kits. During battle, they can supply ammunition to the other terminators.^[6]
T-900 Heavy: These are very much like the T-900 Supply in build. They have blue sensors and can have an RSB-80 Plasma Cannon, or a Term cannon. They can also notify HK planes to bombard a human base or convoy.^[7]

T-950 Series

The T-950 Series is a variant of the standard T-900. It possesses a slimmer body more reminiscent of the Series T-X, and served as a potential precursor to that advanced battle unit. The T-950 had red sensors and had a red glow caused by their internal plasma reactors. ^[8]
