Wanted

Wanted:

  • Relationship analysis between John and Sarah/Derek.

I might have a crack at it, but the low ratings for TSCC keeps putting my mind off of it. :( Darth Raivon 21:10, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Cameron

Are you absolutely certain of the emotional baggage, specifically the allusion to romantic interest, that you keep putting on Cameron and John? Rememer that timeline-wise, the TSCC John is still operating under the young JC attachment he had to "Uncle Bob" from T2, and has a habit of bonding with and unquestioninly trusting the terminators he send back to protect himself. He does not have the cautionary tale of T3 to shield himself with. Is he attached? Yes, certainly. Does he trust her? Implicitly (as long as she's not "broken"). Is he planning on bringing a whole new meaning to the term technophile? I seriously doubt it. John in T2 was seriously distraught at the notion of destroying and losing the one concrete thing he could trust in his life, the Terminator he himself sent to watch over him. Sarah had to be the one to destroy it even. Now, presented with yet another gift from himself, that he should be able to trust without reservation, he is certainly defensive of her, as her presence represents actions of his own judgment that no one else will yet entrust to. John's opening up to Riley is indeed part of him breaking out from his mother's protective shadow, to live, as he himself says "His Own Life", but not as an excuse to avoid "dealing with his emotoipns for Cameron". That is just too speculative and wayyy out in the fan-fic reservation at least for now. I'd actually be really disappointed with the show if that's the way they turn things (and it would do all kinds of sick damage to their cover as brother-and-sister). As he loved the T2 terminator as the father he never had, so he certainly loves Cameron, as the sibling he also never had. Let dealing with Riley and the other girl in school he was eyeng as more than enough hassle for him to grow into. And remember, Morris still has a date with Cameron for the prom. 8P Just my few cents on the subject, and food for thought.Fulongamer 22:33, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

True, but I base my reviews on personal observation (I'm pretty good at reading people) and the interviews with the cast. There have been numerous interviews wherein Thomas Dekker, Summer Glau, and even Josh Friedman himself have stated that John is in love with Cameron, but he doesn't want to admit it. If you think my writing style is a little bit too romantic-centric then I can dumb it down a bit, but this may prove to be unnecessary in the long run. As for his feelings being brotherly, that isn't the case. His behaviour is not consistent with that of a caring brother, more like a teen in self-denial. Besides, it's been said that John is "in love" with Cameron, not that he "loves" Cameron. The difference being that loving someone can be an extension of caring for someone, whereas being "in love" is becoming infatuated with someone. That's what John is going through, he's infatuated with Cameron, always has been. Darth Raivon 22:54, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Since I haven't read the comics, is "Uncle Bob" even canon? or ever mentioned within the show?Jaque355 (talk)

Moving proposal

I'd like suggesting moving both "John Connor (Alternate Timeline)" and "Sarah Connor (Alternate Timeline)" into "John Connor (TSCC)" and "Sarah Connor (TSCC)" respectively. Since there are too many timelines (despite most of them are minor compared to TSCC), we need to specified which timeline they are from. --TX55TALK 06:18, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
