Talk:Resistance

From Terminator Wiki

Where does all this future detail (Taylor etc.) come from? —MJBurrage(TC) 18:04, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

We added some cite tags a while back, and no one has risen to the occasion. So I'm moving that paragraph into this talk page (below), until a source can be given. --Kanamekun 18:38, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Tech-Com developed two robots under its control: Cameron Phillips from The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and her brother Taylor, who is programmed to terminate the main androids working for Skynet. During the war, at one point, Tech-Com captured and re-programmed the original android. After sending it to protect John Connor, Taylor killed five of Skynet's main androids.

Rename Article

I think this article should be renamed the "Resistance", since that term is consistently used and the term Tech-Com has limited usage. Also... in the last episode of T:SCC, Derek mentioned Tech-Com as an operational specialty - that suggests that maybe Tech-Com isn't the name of the resistance? Anyway until this is resolved, was thinking it's safer to name the article Resistance and mention Tech-Com as a subsection. Let me know if anyone objects, and if not I'll start the move soon. Thanks! --Kanamekun 17:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

In Terminator 3: War of the Machines, the Resistance as a whole is called Tech-com, and I believe most books and other sources call it Tech-com, although most of it is non-canon. Heyann 19:03, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Yah it's often called Tech-Com in the video games and other non-canon sources... but it's almost always also called the Resistance? We can create a Tech-Com section in the article, where we go over precisely when and how the term is used... --Kanamekun 19:09, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Any objections to my moving this article to "Resistance"? The content of the article won't change... just the article name. --Kanamekun 17:09, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Tech-Com

I removed the phrase "It is unclear whether the phrase 'Tech-Com' is canon." Obviously it's canon, since the phrase was used by Kyle Reese in the original movie. Definition of Canon: Any info that does not contradict the Creator's original vision, unless written by the creator him/herself. A good example is Star Wars. Although the concept of the Sith was created by George Lucas, the history of the Sith was written by others, and does not really fit into the Star Wars series of movies. Therefore, even though this history is accepted by fans (and Lucas himself), it is technically non-canon. In the original Star Wars movie, there was only one Lord of the Sith; Darth Vader. EPs I-III expanded this to include Darth Sidious (Emperor Palpatine), Darth Maul, and Darth Tyrannus. This change was based upon all of the non-canon books, comics etc.

Sorry for the Star Wars refs.
