Merging or not

Earlier made a proposal of merging the Series T-850-page and Series T-888 into Series 800, but I was redirected to this discussion below. Is there any conclusion of what we do? Ascaaear 13:04, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Conceptually, I see the connection. From a practical perspective though, the articles seem to cover a lot of different material? Would be curious to see how a merge would work - maybe it's worth trying a merge first as a sub-page to your User page? --Kanamekun 13:40, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
As I see it, it should be divided in four pages. The Series 800 which contain information about the T-800, T-850 and T-888 as Terminators in general. Then the last three pages about T-800, T-850 and T-888 which are about the Terminator which appear in movies and the tv-series.
I can try do something on my personal page, and show it later!

I saw somewhere, someone referred to this as the T-8xx series. I like that - it's sort of like the Intel x86 designation. I had always disliked having the T-800 series article refer to the T-800 *and* the 850 and 888; this way, it would at least be clear that the T-800 was a subset of the T-8xx line. Just a thought... --Kanamekun 17:40, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Not a bad idea. It's a good point to at least emphasize that there is a T-800-model too. On the other hand, it's not used officially, so it's little weird and unusual for me to use it. Any other thoughts? Anyone have a reason to NOT use it? Ascaaear 17:08, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Merge?

Is it possible to merge this page with Series T-1000? It might be confusing having two separate pages. -- Danny (talk) 02:14, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I think this page should be about the specific T-1000 seen in the movie, while the other one should be more about the model in general (I would assume "series" refers to "model"). --Dragonclaws(talk) 04:07, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I think the reason why there's two is because the other Terminators each get two pages since there's a lot of evidence that several model series have been produced and appeared in various stories. I assume that's why we ended up with a Terminator models category and a Terminator characters category. —Scott (talk) 04:48, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I think it would be easy to have all of that information on one page, as separate sections. Right now, if you search for "T-1000" you get the Series T-1000 page. I'm not sure that's what people would expect when they search for T-1000, or link to it. -- Danny (talk) 04:59, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
It looks like Colby started the pages this way. I'd like to hear his thoughts. —Scott (talk) 05:18, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I think it would at least make more sense to make the T-1000 redirect default to the character (it's his only name) rather than the model information. Danny does have a point about what the casual viewer expects when they search for T-1000. Leave the model info separate if desired for organization and have the link from the character page. Just my 2cents. -- Wendy (talk) 05:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I'd be fine with different names for the articles, but I definitely think they need to stay as two articles. Making this T-1000 and moving the other to T-1000 Series or something would be fine. (We should probably also get a "You may..." tag going here to help clear things like this up.) -- Ozzel 07:52, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
...and I just realized the other one was already moved. We can move this one then. -- Ozzel 07:53, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
My impression is that T-100, T-200, T-300 (which are increased by 100) counts as a model Series. The only exception would be T-70 and T-X which also are a series. When we talk about T-850 and T-888 I consider it only as a upgrade and are build on the first T-800. The articles on "T-850" and "T-888" should be about the specific appearance of the model in the movies, novels, games and so. Does any one agree or disagree? On the article of "Series T-800" it is already started to mention the upgraded models.
What about Cromartie? Should this article redirect to "T-888" or other vice? Ascaaear 14:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
