Continuity The timelines beneath are additions to the timeline above up to a specific source. Some are considered alternative timelines to each other.[8]
Note: The text marked with grey-color, are time traveling which already happened before in a previous timeline. When time eventually ends up to the point where Skynet and John are sending back the terminator and Kyle Reese again, it is not explained where they end up. Do they end up in a timeline where another terminator and Kyle Reese exist in 1984, or do they end up in a un-altered 1984? Another point is that whenever a timetravel is done, it starts over from the point in time when something arrives in that past, which means if the "grey" events are included, the events explained in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines about Katherine Brewster sending back a T-850 in 2032 would then not happen. The concept of time traveling are not explained very well in the Terminator franchise, weather or not the "gray" events are included in later timelines, so the event are displayed, but grayed out.
