The Ellison Terminator is a terminator sent from the future to replace and kill James Ellison. [1]

Personality
Remorseless and direct, the terminator demonstrated no human mannerisms during its short appearance.
Season Two
The eyewitness account of its arrival noted that it appeared in the middle of the street via time displacement sphere and walked straight up to its first victim (Peter Meyers) in order to terminate him and take his clothes. Entering the home of agent Ellison, it was in the process of finalizing confirmation of its target before being terminated by Cromartie.
Ellison was then arrested for the murder of Peter Meyers, since the witness had no idea of the terminator. The Sheriff released Ellison when the witness described the time displacement sphere, calling the witness crazy. Later, after Ellison left the police, the Sheriff morphed back into the form of Catherine Weaver, leaving the status of the real sheriff unknown.
Further human behaviors may have been demonstrated if it had been successful in replacing Ellison, as more detailed infiltration protocols would have then been brought online.
This Terminator's destruction by Cromartie is yet another example of the mysterious link between himself and Agent Ellison. This marks the second time that Cromartie has saved or spared Ellison's life.

Notes
- The Ellison Terminator is another example of a direct replacement of an individual by Skynet.
- It is not clear why Skynet has chosen to "replace" Ellison rather then simply terminating him. It's possible he was going to be used to get close to Catherine Weaver, suspected leader of the Cyborg Resistance.
- It is unknown what Cromartie did with the remains. This mystery could actually spawn numerous story lines;
- Cromartie could save the endo for spare parts, or use it to modify himself into a "super-terminator".
- He could, potentially, repair the endo and use it as a James Ellison pawn to get close to the Connors.
- Through the use of an accomplice, if Cromartie was able to substitute his own chip for the endo's, he could assume Ellison's identity. This would strengthen Cromartie's infiltration ability greatly.
- The issue may simply be written out, and nothing will be further known about the endo.
- The Ellison Terminator is the first terminator to appear in TSCC and the Terminator Quadrilogy that was not shown to slay any human (though he killed at least one person).

- ↑ Another witness confirms that it saw the terminator appear in a time bubble in "Brothers of Nablus". It's most likely that the terminator was sent from the future, as there has only been one confirmed incident where terminators were sent from the past (Cameron Phillips and Cromartie's head both traveled forward in time in "Pilot".)
