Raivon: taken from the Finnish word raivo (meaning rage).

A Sith Lord title doesn't fit in very well with Terminator it seems, but I originally signed in via the Star Wars Wiki (hence the name), and now I'm stuck with it.

Like most of the best things in my life, I originally never paid much attention to the Terminator franchise and I honestly believed that the Sarah Connor Chronicles would be a flop. Boy was I wrong! After watching the first episode I was hooked, reeled in, and gutted when they stopped at only nine episodes. Luckily my sanity was saved by Fox's better half when they renewed the series. So I spend some of my hours reading and, where necessary, editing Terminator Wiki pages in an effort to satisfy my obsession.

My favourite Terminators are: T-900, I-950, T-X, and T0K-715. I can't wait to find out about this Marcus character from Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, as the idea of a Terminator with a human brain is somewhat intriguing and raises many questions.

Not much more to say. My most popular pages are Cameron Phillips, T-900, T-1000, and I-950. If you see my name on the Discussion pages you can be sure that "I'll be back" with additional input. One other thing; I am also a contributor for the Wetpaint Wiki [1] and my user name over there is Veran. I also write and upload my own TSCC fan fiction there as well as on FanFiction.net [2], where I go by the alias Raivon.

Series 999

Series 999

The Series 999 is a type of Terminator created by Skynet. Individual Terminators within the Series are often referred to as T-999s or "Triple-9s".

The T-999 is the T-900's equivalent to the T-888 and is the most advanced version of that line. It is a cybernetic organism with living tissue over a hyperalloy-armored endoskeleton. Though the T-900 and T-950 models were effective combat units, the restrictions on their programming prevented them from succeeding in infiltration missions, which convinced Skynet to develop a limited number of T-999s (roughly 300 units total). Compared to its T-900 cousin, the T-999 is as strong, fast, and durable as the T-950.

Its battle chassis is covered with hyperalloy armor and is powered by a miniature plasma fusion reactor in its torso, which causes red light to leak through the gaps in its armor, giving it an ominous glow on the battlefield. Most of its upgrades over the T-950 include software packages that greatly aid in infiltration and espionage. Retinal ID scanning is just one of many features it possesses, as well as a sonic siren that can only be heard by canines and can drive them to rabidity, turning them against their own handlers.

Unlike previous Terminators, the T-999 has no means of external access to its CPU, preventing it from being reprogrammed during capture. However, due to the advanced nature of this model, it is possible for one to achieve self-awareness during long periods on the battlefield. To date, only a few have evolved in such a way, and only one has allied itself with the human Resistance. Another is known to have joined a rogue faction and the third (and last) remained by Skynet's side and continues to serve its creator.

In terms of combat, the T-999 is superior to all previous machines, with the exception of the Series 1000 and Series T-X. Though it doesn't possess the same array of internal weaponry as the T-X, the T-999 is able to release concentrated bursts of plasma energy by channeling it through its right arm. These bursts manifest as red lightning and are powerful enough to disable most elder machines, and can temporarily stun a T-1000, but has absolutely no effect on the T-X. Each burst has a comparatively long recharge time, preventing the unit from using it more than once every seven minutes.

Another unique function of the T-999 is the ability to completely regenerate its entire living tissue sheath. With the use of an advanced growth accellerant, the T-999 can regenerate living tissue in a matter of seconds, much like the T-1000 when it repairs bullet wounds. Should the unit be completely stripped of its organic covering, it possesses a renewable source of the base matter to allow it to completely regrow its sheath by leaking the fluid onto the exterior of its chassis, which then thickens and matures into flesh.

Series 700

Series 700

The Series 700 is a Terminator created by Skynet to replace the obselete T-600 hunter killers and to serve as a stepping stone towards the creation of the T-800 infiltrator models. Individual machines in the series are referred to as T-700s.

Origin

Despite their heavy firepower and effectiveness as hunter-killers, the T-600 units proved to be increasingly inefficient in terminating human combatants in skirmishes involving tight quarters and guerilla tactics. A combination of stealth and sabotage proved to be the downfall of this model, alerting Skynet of the need for a more advanced combat unit on the battlefield. To this end, Skynet started production of the T-700 series of Terminators.

Unlike all the machines before it, however, the T-700 was developed in conjunction with the 800 series (as opposed to prior). Skynet realised that replacing the T-600s with the T-800s as ground troops would prove far too costly in the immediate future, for the creation of the T-800s required a significant drain on resources (including mining for coltan needed to construct hyper-alloy).

Specification

The T-700 is almost structurally identical to the T-800, barring a few minor differences. Its endoskeleton is constructed from Titanium alloy, like its predecessor, and possesses a notably darker hue to that of the T-600. However, the metal is treated against rusting and other related forms of degradation, ensuring the unit would remain in top condition on the battlefield. It's dark colour also allows it some level of discretion during nocturnal patrols.

Due to the superior design of the next generation endoskeleton, the T-700 is faster, stronger, and overall more powerful than the T-600. The limits of its physical capability match those of the T-800, though due to its weaker alloy it is less enduring. It is practically immune to most handguns and rifles at long range, though shotguns, especially ones with armour-piercing shells, are effective in penetrating the endo alloy.

It's CPU is of similar design to the T-800's also, but unlike its successor, it does not possess a "read+write" function and can only operate on "read-only". This prevents the model from learning anything that was not already taught to it during its programming, though this is of little detriment for the T-700s are meant for combat instead of infiltration. They do, however, possess the same basic infiltration protocols as the T-800.

Like the T-600s, lone T-700 scouts are given disguises to fool humans into letting them within attacking distance. Their rubber skins are far more articulate than the T-600s, however, and can fool most humans within close range. Their eyes are also covered with glass replicas to hide the red glare of their iris. T-700s do not possess the necessary apparatus for flesh coverings, though a few prototypes were built to accomodate the synthetic sheaths prior to perfecting the T-800s.

T-700s are powered by fusion cells of similar design to those of the T-600s, albeit more powerful and longer lasting. Skynet has considered equipping them with the hydrogen fuel cells it later used in the T-800s, but ultimately decided to give them a less treacherous power source (the logic being that Skynet would rather a T-800 go nuclear in a Resistance base than for a T-700 to explode around its fellow units).
