  • Thank you Scott. I'm glad you guys are here since the start of the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and I frequent several wikia here, including Wookieepedia (the Star Wars Wiki) and Futurepedia (the Back to the Future wiki). -- Riffsyphon1024 05:53, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikilinks

Hey Riffssyphon1024! I've noticed you've been wikifying a lot of links :-). A lot of the wiki links are great... but I've noticed that some of them are to things I'm not sure will become articles - like wikilinks to "cancer" and "September 11", which aren't really that unique to the Terminator topic.

Was curious what the rule of thumb you're using in adding wiki links? I've just started editing here, so I could be out of touch with what the norms are on this wiki. Let me know what you're thinking, and maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle?

Thanks! --Kanamekun 07:37, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Well to begin I am naturally a hyperinclusionist. As with my work on Wookieepedia, I link everything that is canonical in the universe with which I am working on. In this case, Sept 11 is just another date, which can be categorized in Category:Dates but so should all known dates on this wiki, and since cancer has come up in more than one medium of the Terminator universe, it would seem like a relevant topic, which currently is being referenced in the series. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:31, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah ok. The dates are a little tricky, because there are so many different timelines. Yah some wikis link everything, and others are more selective. My sense is that the more inclusionist approaches to linking work best on the larger wikis... maybe once we have more pages here, maybe we will wikilink more? But that's just my sense - maybe a more aggressive wiki-linking approach will emerge on the site through consensus. As for cancer, I'm not sure what you mean - I'd be curious to see what kind of article you'd write for that! --Kanamekun 23:34, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps nothing more than a stub for cancer, but it (as leukemia) kills Sarah in the T3 timeline, and it kills her in the Chronicles timeline however they skip past that point and she is apparently able to catch and treat it. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:52, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
